No more interviews for IBPS junior level posts: To be substituted by psychometric test?

The CWE V clerk examination was conducted in the month of December/January 2016 by IBPS. According to the official notification, from  January 1 there will be no recruitment with the interview at the junior level posts in the government of India ministries, departments, attached and subordinate offices, autonomous bodies and PSUs. All central government ministries and their Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) have been asked to dispense with the requirement of interviews for selections at junior level posts within next two days, however, they may continue with skill or physical test.

The main exam was conducted on  January 3 and 4. The paper comprised of five sections namely, Reasoning, English Language ,Numerical Ability Test, General Awareness Test and Computer Knowledge. The exam was held for a duration of two hours.

The final selection of the candidates will be on the basis of preliminary examination, main examination and interview. The short listed candidates will be appointed in any of the participating banks. IBPS had declared the preliminary examination result on December 17, 2015.

It is also expected that psychometric tests will take place of the interview. The decision was taken in a recent meeting of committee of secretaries chaired by the cabinet secretary, in which PSB banks have been recommended to discontinue interview in the recruitment process of clerical and junior level posts.

However,  the Finance Ministry has asked all the public sector banks to strengthen the written examination for the posts of clerical and sub-staff as there will be no interviews for such appointments.
