1. RBI keeps key rates unchanged in 6th bi-monthly monetary policy review
1. The Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) headed by RBI Governor Urjit Patel has kept the key policy rates unchanged. It was central bank’s sixth bi-monthly and last policy for the financial year 2016-17 and overall the third by the MPC. All six members of the MPC voted in favour of holding rates.
Policy Rates
Repo rate under the liquidity adjustment facility (LAF): Unchanged at 6.25 percent.
Reverse repo rate under the LAF: Unchanged at 5.75 per cent. Marginal standing facility (MSF): Unchanged at 6.75 per cent.
Bank Rate: Unchanged at 6.75 per cent.
Reserve Ratios Cash Reserve Ratio (CRR) of scheduled banks: Unchanged at 4.0 per cent of net demand and time liability (NDTL). Statutory Liquidity Ratio (SLR): Unchanged 20.75 per cent.

2. Arunachal Pradesh becomes first NE State to implement e-Cabinet Solution
1. Arunachal Pradesh became the first state in the northeast to implement e-Cabinet solution for the state cabinet members. It is a powerful governance tool that will be used to streamline its decision-making process. Using this system, state cabinet members can access the cabinet notes before the meeting.

3. 3-day global conference on Nuclear Terrorism to begin in New Delhi
1. The Implementation and Assessment Group Meeting of the Global Initiative to Combat Nuclear Terrorism begins in New Delhi. Nearly 150 delegates from various partner countries and international organisations will take take part in the three-day event.
2. Foreign Secretary S. Jaishankar will inaugurate the meet organised by the Ministry of External Affairs and the Department of Atomic Energy.

4. SC clears plan to verify mobile phone users through Aadhaar
1. The Supreme Court has approved the government‘s plan to record the identification details of mobile subscribers through an e-KYC (Know Your Customer) mechanism linked to Aadhaar in a bid to enhance national security and prevent fake users.
2. A Bench led by Chief Justice of India J.S. Khehar asked the government, represented by Attorney-General Mukul Rohatgi, to put in place the mechanism within a year.

5. No cash withdrawal limit from March 13,2017:RBI
1. The Reserve Bank of India announced that the cash withdrawal limit on savings accounts will be scrapped from March 13, 2017 .
2. Further, the current limit of withdrawal fixed at ₹24,000 per week will be raised to ₹50,000 per week from February 20,2017 the RBI added. The limits on bank withdrawals were placed after demonetization

6. ICICI Securities partners with Saxo Bank
1. ICICI Securities, a subsidiary of ICICI Bank, has entered into a strategic partnership with Saxo Bank, an online multi-asset trading and investment specialist.
2. This partnership will offer Saxo's trading and investment capabilities via a digital platform to Indian investors.

7. Dubai gets first woman commercial pilot in royal family
1. Shaikha Mozah Al Maktoum, one of the female members of Dubai’s ruling family, is claimed to have become the first woman commercial pilot, according to media reports.
2. In recent years, an Emirati woman fighter pilot – Major Mariam Al Mansouri – made headlines around the world when she led an aerial raid against ISIS in Syria.

8. Indian Railways approves first Rail Project in Andaman and Nicobar
1. The Union Railway Ministry has approved 240-KM broad-gauge railway line project in Andaman and Nicobar.
2. The first railway line on Andaman and Nicobar Islands will connect Port Blair (capital) in the south with Diglipur, largest town on the north Andaman Island.
3. Currently both destinations are linked by a 350-km bus service that takes over 14 hours and a ship that takes around 24 hours and there is no air connectivity.
