1. India becomes world’s 7th most valued nation brand: Report
India was placed at 7th position in world’s most valuable nation brands report among the 100 assessed nations. It was revealed in recently released annual report compiled by Brand Finance. Key highlights 
India as a world’s seventh most valued nation brand is having its brand value to 2.1 billion dollars. It has moved by one position compared to year 2014 It has brand value of 2.1 billion dollars with an increase of 32 per cent. It is highest surge among all the top-20 countries on the list. United States had topped this edition of list with a brand valuation of 19.7 billion dollars. 
Top 7 countries: United States, China, Germany, United Kingdom, Japan, France and India.

2. MTS India merged with Reliance Communications
Anil Ambani-led Reliance Communications (RCom)  declared that it will take over Russian conglomerate Sistema Shyam Teleservices’ (SSTL) venture that operates under the brand name of MTS for a cashless deal valued at around 4500-5000 crore rupees.
The merger will bring 9 million customers and around 1500 crore rupees in revenues to RCom. It will also help RCom extend the validity of spectrum in 800/850 MHz band spectrum, ideally suited for 4G LTE services, in eight circles, including Delhi and Kolkata, by 12 years from 2021 till 2033.
As per the terms of merger, SSTL will acquire 10 percent equity in RCom. The Reliance Communications will assume the liability to pay instalments for SSTL’s spectrum, amounting to 392 crore rupees per annum, to the Department of Telecom (DoT) for the next 10 years.

3. Lionel Messi is the new face of Tata cars
Footballer Lionel Messi is the new global brand ambassador for Tata Motors’ passenger vehicles.
The company will now kick off a campaign ‘#madeofgreat’  seeking to showcase the confluence of two global brands, Tata Motors and Lionel Messi. The core idea of this campaign emerges from the thought of ‘What drives us from within is what makes us great’.

4. BrahMos missile successfully test-fired from INS Kochi
India  successfully test-fired BrahMos Supersonic Cruise Missile from INS Kochi off the west coast. BrahMos, in its 49th test-firing, successfully destroyed target ship Alleppey which was stationed 290 km away, the missile’s full range.
The purpose of the test was to validate capabilities of BrahMos and INS Kochi, the country’s newest stealth-destroyer, which was inducted into the navy on 30 September 2015.
INS Kochi has the advanced capability of carrying a total of 16 BrahMos missiles in two 8-cell vertical launch systems, besides other sophisticated weapons and sensors.

 5. Hero Group founder Brijmohan Lall Munjal died
Hero Group founder Brijmohan Lall Munjal died  in New Delhi. He was 92 and survived by three sons and one daughter.
He was considered as the doyen of Indian two-wheeler industry and at the time of his death, he was the Chairman Emeritus of Hero MotoCorp.

6. Roger Federer won 2015 Swiss Indoors men’s singles title by defeating Rafael Nadal
Roger Federer of Switzerland  won the Swiss Indoors men’s singles tennis title. He defeated Rafael Nadal of Spain 6-3 5-7 6-3 at the final match held at the St. Jakobshalle in Basel, Switzerland.
For the 17-time Grand Slam winner, it was seventh Swiss Indoors title and 88th of his career. In 2015, it was his sixth title.
However, Nadal still has the upper hand as he has an impressive 23-11 head-to-head record against Federer.

7. Ruling AKP wins 2015 general election of Turkey
Ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) founded by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has won a critical 2015 Parliamentary Election of Turkey. In this election AKP won 316 seats of total 550 members of the Grand National Assembly of the Parliament by securing 49.4 per cent of the votes. Main opposition Republican People’s Party (CHP) won 134 by securing 25.4 per cent votes.

8. Indian Railways launches Vikalp scheme for waitlisted passengers
Indian Railways has launched Vikalp scheme to facilitate waitlisted passengers to get an alternative train accommodation. The scheme has been launched on pilot basis in trains running on Delhi-Lucknow and Delhi-Jammu sectors for 6 months and option will be limited to Mail and Express trains. With this scheme, Indian Railways aim to achieve the twin objectives Providing confirmed accommodation to waitlisted passengers. Ensure optimal utilisation of available accommodation for these passengers. Under this scheme
 Waitlisted passengers will get confirmed accommodation in next alternative train if they opt for it while booking their tickets online. Once they opt for it passengers will get SMS alert on their mobile phone about getting confirmed accommodation in alternative train. No extra charges will be paid passenger to avail this scheme or any refund provided for the difference of fare. In the alternative train, the name of passenger who has been provided accommodation will not figure in the waitlisted charts of their original train. A separate list of passengers transferred in alternative train will be pasted along with the confirmed and waitlist charts.

9. Rosberg wins Mexican Grand Prix
Rosberg won the first Mexican Grand Prix since 1992 for his fourth victory this season, denying Mercedes teammate Lewis Hamilton in his bid to tie the Formula One record of 13 victories in a season.
And it earned him a sliver of satisfaction in defeating Hamilton, who has beaten him to the season championship the past two years.
