IBPS Clerk- V Exam Pattern And Syllabus

Dear Readers, as you all know IBPS has Released the Notification of IBPS CWE Clerk- V.The online examination (Preliminary and Main) for Clerical cadre Posts in the Participating Organisations
January 2016.

Preliminary Exam-
This is the first time, IBPS is conducting preliminary exam to eliminate candidates in the early stage of selection process.

English Language: 30 questions for 30 marks
Quantitative Aptitude: 35 questions for35 marks
Reasoning Ability: 35 questions for 35 marks
Duration- 1 hours

English- Questions will be asked from Comprehension1- 10 questions,  Cloze test (1-10 questions)
 Fill in the blanks  1-5 questions,  paragraph rearrangement,error Detection

Numerical Ability - Questions will be asked from Simplification, Average, Percentage, Time & Work, Area, profit & Loss, Simple & Compound Interest, Time & Speed, Investment, HCF LCM, Problem On Ages , Bar Graph, Pictorial Graph, Pie Chart. Data Interpretation

Reasoning-It includes topics like Coding decoding, blood relation,
syllogism, puzzle(seating type or circular arrangement), inequality, data sufficiency,  series

 Mains Exam
Reasoning: 40 questions for 40 marks
English Language: 40 questions for 40 marks
Quantitative Aptitude: 40 questions for 40 marks
General Awareness- 40 questions for 40 marks
Computer- 40 questions for 40 marks

Duration- 2 hours

Syllabus for main Exam

1. Reasoning-It includes topics like
Coding decoding,
blood relation,
puzzle(seating type or circular arrangement),
data sufficiency,

2.English Language- It includes topics like
spotting errors,
paragraph rearrangement,
cloze test,
and fill in the blanks.

3. Quantitative Aptitude-  It includes topics like
 profit and loss,
simple and compound interest,
Time work,
speed distance,
ratio proportion
and series.

4. General Awareness- It includes questions from
Banking Awareness - recent banking updates ,
News related with RBI and knowledge of banking terms .
In current Affairs topics covered are
 Recent appointments in India and World,
 Person in news,
persons died,
Awards and Honours,
Sports events,
Important books and author,
Important Days,
Capital and currency,
recent committees,

5. Computer- It includes Topics like
Parts of Computer- Input -output devices, types of memory
Operating System
Application softwares especially MS Office- word, excel, powerpoint

Candidates who have been shortlisted in the main examination for CWE Clerks-V will subsequently be called for an Interview to be conducted by the Participating Organisations and coordinated by the Nodal Bank in each State/ UT with the help of IBPS. Interviews will be conducted at select centres. The centre, address of the venue, time & date of Interview will be informed to the shortlisted candidates in the call letter. Candidates are required to download
their interview call letters from authorised IBPS website www.ibps.in. Please note that any request regarding change in date, centre etc. of interview will not be entertained. However the conducting agencies reserve the right to change the date/ venue/ time/ centre etc. of interview or hold supplementary process for particular date / session / venue / centre / set of candidates at its discretion, under unforeseen circumstances, if any.
The total marks allotted for Interview are 100. The minimum qualifying marks in interview will not be less than 40% (35% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD/EXSM candidates). The weightage (ratio) of CWE (Main exam) and interview will be 80:20 respectively. The combined final score of candidates shall be arrived at on the basis of scores obtained by the candidates in the Main Examination of CWE Clerks-V and Interview. Interview score of the candidates failing to secure minimum qualifying marks or otherwise barred from the interview or further process shall not be disclosed.
